    Metabolic Testing
    Effective weight loss is not about starving yourself or cutting down to 1200 calories per day. It is all about knowing exactly how many calories your body expends, or burns, per day and designing a meal plan based on that information. Most people when dieting eat too few calories, which ultimately leads to the opposite effect of your body not knowing when it will get energy next and therefore it conserves fat. The only way to accuratly know how many calories you should be consuming per day to maximize weight loss is to take a metabolic test, which done correctly has a margin of error of only 24 kCal/day.
     
    Metabolic testing consists of a breathing test that measures the total caloric expenditure for YOUR body. The results are broken into three categories Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), Lifestyle, and Exercise. RMR is the amount of calories your body burns if you were to lay in bed all day long and do nothing. Lifestyle is the amount of calories your body burns during your typical daily activities. Exercise is the amount of calories your body burns during 30 minutes of consistent exercise at 60% max heart rate (MHR). RMR is calculated by measuring the amount of oxygen that is being used and consumed by the body and there is a direct relationship between oxygen consumption and caloric consumption rate. We take the results of these three areas and assign you a meal plan.
     
    Group Training
    We have found from our various weight loss contests that the most effective way to get people motivated to keep coming to their workouts is to have dedicated group training sessions. Grouping people together that have the same goal and having a trainer dedicated to getting them to lose weight keeps people accountable. The team picks you up when you are down and pushes you to get past the inevitable barriers as together you try to make that healthy lifestyle change.
     
    Your workouts will by dynamic and fresh. We believe in circuit training to integrate cardio into your weight training, which helps you get those peaks and valleys in your heart rate. If your workout is done the right way your body will keep burning calories even after your workout!
     
    Nutrition
    The correct balance of foods is important for successful weight loss. We have designed meal plans and assign them based on the results of your metabolic test. You will be very restricted on what you can eat for the first month. Although it will be difficult, it is essential to break you of your bad habits and to open your horizons on some foods that you might not normally eat. In the second month of the program you are given some more options, although you are still pretty restricted. In the third month we open up the diet. You will start to notice that not eating right will make you feel bad and then you know that you have made the lifestyle change!
